Kevin Dessimoz: A Continuous Harmony #2

Wendell Berry said, "Individualism is going around these days in uniform, handing out the party line on individualism." This was written during the time of communism in Russia, and I think that influenced Berry's statement greatly. The whole goal of communism is to make every the same, especially economically. But with "individualism" going around and handing out uniforms there would be no individualism since everyone would be wearing the same uniform. Berry is taking a jab at communism with this statement and he clearly believes that one should be able to express their self freely.
