Allen Grace 6 on Wendell Berry 2
In the Use of Energy, Berry describes the digging stick, it took skill to make, and also skill to use. And that use, disturbed the earth, which ultimately required more skill to fix. This should be noted as a neverending cycle, because ideas and inventions lead to further ideas and inventions, which further destroy the earth. Berry then goes on to say that self powering machines and meachine extracted energy really messed up and radically diminished the world, and the soil, and the nature. This is true, and as in my last post, it comes about due to American Exploitation. You have to ask, what is it all worth? That green and purple bullshit stored away in a bank in order to buy that new car? Really? We should really consider returning to a substinence lifestyle. The over consumption is killing the world, the people and life, and our mentality.
