In The Unsettling of America, Berry points out the impending death of the relationship between man and land. He feels that the relationship has been replaced by large agricultural companies. There are fewer and fewer farmers in the world. It seems that man has started to fall out of love with the world. If man does not repair the relationship we will lose the earth, because of the greed and ignorance of mankind.
