Allen grace 5 on Wendell Berry

After one or two more of these, I think I need to take a break and get some food on the great lawn. But the 20 minute walk agggggg. And by the way, for the records, writing those damn letters on the bottom for verification, yea i can not tell one from the other so i have to write them like 5 times for each post. I guess its my fault for waiting to do all this :-\ Looking at the Modern Agricultural Ideal, a specific passages sums it up real nice, "Being away from home. On the new shores the old orders of domesticity, respect, deference, humility fell away from them; they arrived contemptuous of whatever existed before their own coming, disdainful beyond contempt of native creatures or values or order, ravenous for their own success. They began . . . at the ear of absolute human presumption. . An infinitely greedy soverieng is afoot in the univers, staking his claims." (55). I concur one hundred and seventeen percent. The Europeans are total scum-d-bags. It brings up a movie, The Last Samurai, Where the Tom Cruise characters learns to hate his native America, and his superior officer says 'Why do you hate your own people, and your own country so much?' I feel the same way. this country disgusts me, and peoples' lack of inabbitions, their indifference, their gluttony their lust, their greed. . . . this country is the epitomy of sin and messed up morals. Berry states earlier that this modern person does not know where he is morally either. Everybody is caught up in the manufactured rat race, and thus cannot think, cannot act independently, and play into the big corporate game, which in the end screws them.
