A Continuous Harmony 1

Nature Poetry.” Like Wendell Berry says, ‘nature poetry’ is a clumsy term because every poet writes about nature in some form because the natural world is abundantly stocked with symbols and metaphors to use. But when using the term ‘nature poetry’ Berry is referring to those who base their philosophies, their work, their poetry on nature and the power it has with humans, such as David Henry Thoreau who lived away from society and amidst nature for two years. I am thinking of hiking the Appalachian Trail when I graduate from college, and I am planning on bringing as many notebooks as possible so when I’m reflecting my thoughts in the peacefulness of nature I will never forget what I was thinking while living in nature for several months. I think when a person becomes one with nature, and respects it the way it should be respected, they find it easier to be relaxed and peaceful with everything else they do in life.
