Snyder 1 - Tony pasquariello
Snyder talks about his experience with a few aboriginal men taking him to a sacred place to them. I would definitely agree that it would be a very moving and powerful experience. You are a stranger to these people, and they are putting enough trust in you to bring you in as one of theirs, and to take you to sites that they consider very sacred. It would be a very strange experience to be walking with a group of natives and to witness their loyalty and respect for a site that is very sacred to their people. When I first noticed that the children were told to stay behind, I would have been preparing myself to be extra respectful with what I was doing. I think as a child it would be very hard to not go visit a place that you are not allowed to visit until you are older. If I was one of these native children I would probably do what Simba and Nala do in the Lion King when they venture off to the elephant graveyard, and disobey what I was told because I would want to know what is so special about such a place.
