Nolan Trail Revisited
I sought out objects with my eyes that could not alert my ears. They seemed to keep returning to ivy. The ivy was everywhere, it presence unforgettable on almost every living object near the bridge. Its parasitic existence was fierce. The ivy was invading everything it could latch on to. No reason for it, other than to become greater than it was the previous day. Its spineless body used others to support itself. It eventually chokes its hosts from sunlight, which keeps them both alive. It causes the fall of both plants, because the ivy like the tree is greedy for sunlight. The struggle between the Ivy and the Oak is akin to the struggle of resources among humans. It is a tale of greed, something that plagues more than just man.
