Marie steinheiser: outside reading #3

The book "A White Heron" has a purpose behind it. To show readers the clash of nature and civilization. It is always town vs. wilderness, dangerous vs. innocent. While there is some large truths to this claim, the author is unable to come up with any solutions to the problem. With no solutions, there will never be a balance between the world of animals and the human world. Eventually there will be a complete dominance of humans and all animals will become extinct. Our mentality is to grow but we take advantage of nature to do so. Many of us find peace in nature, yet we misuse its resources. If we want to enjoy nature for years to come, we must realize we are harming it in the things we do. Our limits on the love for nature is what is destroying it slowly.
