Eric Kennedy My Choice Blog #2

Eric Kennedy My Choice Blog #2

For this blog I am choosing to talk about nature on our terms.

The majority of trail or nature related recreation sites are for our enjoyment. But also they are in my opinion, something that we as humans have morphed into something of our own liking. We see nature as we think it should be, as I have said in other blogs, and we should not do this because it takes away from what nature actually is. The was a lot to observe the day we had class at the Nolan trail and when we observed that some of the trees that were there were planted to make the place more wooded, I thought that this was a funny fact, that the Nolan trail, a trail that seems quite natural (aside from the obvious human intervention) had so much that was quite unnatural. Also we observed the difference between the tree branch that was broken by natural ways and one that had clearly been sawed off by man. This also was funny to me, that we would go to the trouble of creating this nice nature walk, but as soon as nature stepped foot where we didn’t want it, we put it back where we wanted it, by cutting these branches we were keeping the nature where we wanted it to be, and no where else. This is a sad fact for nature that we put boundaries on it, where it once was free to be how it wanted, and how it had been before we were here.
