Kevin Dessimoz: A Continuous Harmony

In A Continuous Harmony Wendell Berry wrote, "We need better government, no doubt about it. But we also need better minds, better friendships, better marriages, better communities." This is a very true statement on two accounts. Of course with these better minds, friendships, marriages, and communities the government would naturally turn out better. But the other view is with people more educated and happier with life they would feel the government is doing a better job. When everything is perfect in the world the government is praised but when one little thing goes wrong they get accused of being an awful government. I just feel with a more educated and happier society they would be more understanding of the difficulties that the government is faced with.
