Brien Carr - What is the nature of Eden?

Many, many, many times as a child in Sunday school at church I learn about the creation of the worl and the garden of Eden. I learned the story of Adam and Eve and the eating of the fruit of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and their expulsion from the Garden, as found in the book of Genisus. One question that as evaded an answer since this time is the question of what happened to the garden? Where was it? Where is it today?

Well the Bibilical location of the garden was in reference to 4 rivers the Phison, Gihon, Tigris, and the Euphrates. Some scholars have hypothesized that its location is actually between the Tigris and the Euphrates in what was once called Mesopotamia. Others have guessed that its location was in Modern day Ethiopia or in the Persian Gulf. Many also believe that the Garden must have been in Jerusalem since it is such a holy site to many religions. This hypothesis fails to correlate to the scripture in Genesis that where God places angels with flaming swords at the entrance to the garden not allowing anyone to enter. My opinion is that the garden is somewhere in the Mesopatamian area and is covered with sand that desroyed the garden. I believe that the flaming sword might be the sun as it can kill someone easily when stranded in the desert searching for such a mythical place.
